Nautical Challlenge!

Hey everyone! So I had a few people want to do the nail art cross promotion challenge with me which I think is AMAZING!
The first person up on the rotation( there are I believe 4 other people interested) is Sophie from Freshairandfashion. She wanted to do a nautical themed nail art, which was super exciting for me as I have done one before but its been almost a year.

So here is what Sophie sent me:

"For this "nautical mani" theme, I wanted to try out my new striping tape! I used them in blue and white to create crisp lines. The ones at the tips didn't want to stay put but the ones closer to teh cuticle are lasting very well. I used nail cutters to cut the ends. They are self adhesive but I still used a top coat. The anchors were done with BM08 plate and then I freehanded over top to make them stand out more. I'm pretty happy with this manicure except that when I used my Revlon Quick Dry topcoat, it smudged the designs! You can really see it on the thumb.
The red polish is SH Hard as Nails "Cardinal" which is a favourite true red of mine. It applies very opaque and thin. It also dries quickly. The small brush makes it a bit messy to apply though. The blue is new! I finally found a great royal blue. It is LA Color Craze "Static Electricity". It's a jelly polish which isn't good for nail art but it does apply nicely. The first coat was streaky but the second leveled it out and I had no VNL (which you often get with jellies). The white polish is my stand by, SH Insta-Dri "Whiteout White"."

How cute is that manicure?! I love the striping and might have to go get some as I've never played with it before!

Everyone go check out Sophie's Blog! You know you wanna click HERE

For my nail art since I had gone the red, blue, white route with the previous nautical manicure I wanted to switch it up a little so I reached for my Sally Hansen X-Treme Polishes in Celeb City, Wet Cement, and White on. Here is what I came up with:)

I just went with the typical things you would see out at...sea lol! A swallow, an anchor, and the all important compass! Then of course you can't have the nautical manicure without the stripes!

Thanks again to Sophie for being so great about the challenge and stepping up and doing this with someone she didn't know. I had a lot of fun and I hope you did too!

If anyone else is interested in doing a challenge with me make sure and send me an email: forloveandpolish@gmail.com!

Love ya!
